Hampton Inn Charleston-Historic District

The location was excellent and I could walk to restaurants each evening for dinner. Being here alone, that was very helpful as the area appeared very safe. I also liked the in/out privileges in the parking garage located there. I was given a plastic card that I scanned each time to get in and out of garage.

there was a problem with the room the first nite.... and the GM made sure that it was taken care of the next day and offered a I nite refund. However, because the reservation was made and paid thru booking.com they needed to approve it.....She even offered to waive any hotel fees..... Booking.com never responded to her.

Everything was wonderful. We truly have little to complain about if anything. The daily breakfast was a treat. The availability of coffee was great!! The location was fantastic as we could walk to almost everything we wanted to do. The staff was very friendly!! The service of making up our room daily was a wonderful surprise as that is not done any more in most places. I loved relaxing in the courtyard after a full day. There is really not anything of importance that we did not like.

The staff here is exceptional. Our arrival time kept getting pushed back, but we got texts from the front desk staff letting us know they would be all ready for us. Every single staff member we came into contact with was personable and not only willing to help, but proactively asked if there was anything they could do for us. Even before we arrived in Charleston, I asked if they had any car services that they would suggest. They gave me the contact that a lot of their guests use which turned out to be a godsend. Especially considering we arrived so late. They stored our luggage for us on the last day since we didn't fly out until the evening. The free trolley stop is directly in front of the hotel that we used every day. We didn't really take advantage of the breakfast spread, but we did grab coffee every morning. Nicely appointed, hot breakfast, nice courtyard to sit in for breakfast or afternoon cup of coffee. Friendly staff. Have to take the bus in to town but the stop is right across the street.
